I have been talking to a dear friend who has this passionate love for God and her faith has sustained her through storms I cannot imagine experiencing.
She has another test of faith ahead. And I have been praying for her.
I felt like God was encouraging me to share with her that He has this path laid out for her. That this path is good and that it will be better than the paths she has traveled. As I was looking in the Bible to better understand this idea, God led me to these words – they are a song from David found in 2 Samuel after he was delivered from Saul:
You give me your shield of victory;
you stoop down to make me great.
You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.
Read that again and then close your eyes. Can you see it? God Almighty stooping down from the heights of Heaven above to make you great? His Hands touch the dirt path before you and He begins moving and widening the lines so you will be less likely to fall and turn your ankle?
Are you breathless? I am.
He loves you that much. He loves you so much. He stoops over from the spotlessness of Heaven to reach you in this miry mess. Can you see Him bend? Bending down just to reach you. And He’s not just broadening your future path, He touches the path that is CURRENTLY UNDER YOU so your ankles will not turn as you tread it.
That same passage goes on to say that He arms you with strength, He makes your way perfect, He enables you to stand.
Oh sweet friend, I hope that wherever you are today, you can feel him stooping down. He wants to reach you. He has destined you to be great. To walk this journey without limping.
You are such an encouragement. What an amazing picture of how God takes care of us! I love Him!
Thank you dear friend! Praying so much for you.
