This arrived in my mailbox last night:
It’s a campaign my church is doing. I was struck with the tag line: Courage To Trust.
I don’t know what you have ahead of you today, this week, or this month. But could I encourage you stand tall and move forward with courage?
It’s so hard to do. The inset from my church continued with the Courage message by illustrating ways in which we might have to be courageous this year:
Courage to be Uncomfortable – this may mean standing up for something in the face of an audience resistant to the message;
Courage to be Patient – oh I’ve been faced with this one over and over – when you have to trust God’s timing is right and know that He is holding the situation in His hand;
Courage to be Present – sometimes the bravest thing you can do is show up;
Courage to be Generous – in the face of our own time or monetary limitations, God calls us to give despite, or because, of it.
These are just a few ways courage presents itself. You also have to be courageous in the face of hardship. Courageous in the face of battle. Courageous in the face of uncertainty. Courageous in the face of the unknown.
Psalm 31: 24 – Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
Deuteronomy 31: 6 – Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
I Corinthians 16:13 – Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Whatever it is that you are facing, He stands beside you. Giving you the support you need, the peace you need, the strength you need, and the courage you must have to stand.
He is faithful. Be courageous.
