I have several Fashion Friday posts ready, but they were preempted because of my latest shoe finds. This post has no overarching fashion principles it is just about some fabulous shoes I just found.
Back story: I’d found a great pair of practical black kitten heel sling backs for work that had an adorable rattan-type inset at the toe base. But I wore them twice and they broke. Thinking DSW wouldn’t take them back, I went ahead and tried. They did! I got a full refund but nothing to replace them with in store. I trolled DSW for a while looking for a similarly practical low heeled black work slingback.
But then I found these:
These are the most adorable shoes. You may remember I am obsessed with grey shoes. I think grey and taupe shoes are the most practical shoes on the planet because they can be worn with LITERALLY anything. These shoes are by Kurt Geiger, a UK shoe designer who I had never heard of, but I love his asthetic. He’s more expensive than the price point of most mid-tier DSW heels, but because I already had a solid credit I was willing to pay a few more bucks to get these.
Then……..I fell in love with this precious faux patent cork pump. Sounds insane, right? But it was very tailored, with a narrow design and gold buckle, so I knew it could be used at work and on the weekends. What I was NOT prepared for was the fact that they feel like pillows on your feet when you put them on. The most comfortable shoe ever. It’s by a European design company called Sofft and it took every ounce of restraint I had not to order every single pair of shoes they make – in addition to being cute, they are reasonable:
Tell us about the last shoe you fell in love with (and include where you bought it).
