With 1.7 million (20 May 2009) IDPs of which the majority in host families, World Vision has started a targeted distribution in villages and at homes, where IDP families are staying. While WV staff does the paperwork in one of the mountain villages, village life goes on, children and adults. Children come to pick up the mattresses, gas cylinders, cushions, towels and help bringing them to there homes – females are not allowed to leave the home without males accompanying her. Husbands often remained in the conflict area or desperately seek jobs to at least have some financial resources.
