Oh friends I am so excited for the weeks to come.
I shared that after attending Allume I felt passionately about moving my focus, and the focus of anyone who reads this blog, from competition to community.
I also mentioned I lost my words.
As I prayed about what that meant, God opened the door for me to share stories of my fellow sojourners. Of course, after hearing more about their stories, I think of them as sisters. These women aren’t bloggers. They are unique women living their life even though they would all probably tell you its not the life they envisioned in their girlhood daydreams. They are miraculous displays of the power of God’s hand at work in the middle of everything. Military moves, infertility, infidelity and every other manner of life circumstance that ultimately revealed that God Is Able.
That is the theme of every single story. It’s also the title of the book dropped in my lap at Allume: God is Able by Priscilla Shirer.
The entire book is based on a verse out of Ephesians 3 that has become my mantra and life verse:
Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think {my favorite translation says “more than we can ask or imagine”}, according to the power at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
Priscilla starts dissecting this scripture by looking at the very first word: NOW. She says:
Now is the link between the impossible and the possible. The unmanageable and the divinely do-able….Whatever it is, this is when God’s Word works. In real time and space. Right smack-dab in the middle of your now reality. Oddly, however, we tend to disconnect the two – our current reality and God’s present ability. Somehow we overlook the nearness of God when we are caught up in the rhythm of life, dancing to the drumbeat of our personal issues.
That’s what Linda’s story is going to look at this week. You plan and worry and hope and fret about the “then,” but sometimes God just drops a NOW in your lap that is beyond your wildest imaginations.
So stay tuned. This week’s Now story from the beautiful Linda will knock your socks off.
Two things -your God is Able quote selections makes me want to by the book. And I’m dying to hear Linda’s story 🙂 Talk about a good cliffhanger! Looking forward to hearing more.
It is amazing Delonna – you will love it, it’s being used so powerfully in me.
