Fashion Fridays: Out on the Town

April 25, 2014 by Gindi 2 Comments

Are you headed out of town for a couple’s get away?

Off for a birthday girls weekend?

Just going to meet up with a friend while on a business trip?

There’s something about going out on the town in a new city that allows you to redefine yourself.  Try on a new style.

Well, I was doing just such a “wish” makeover for a couple of friends with the same agenda.  One is a busy mom on the go in the south whose style is hip but comfortable and flexible.  Another is a business owner juggling work and family whose style is more traditional with Midwest sensibility.

For the first, I envisioned something modern.  A shift with a fun print and cool shoes with geometric earrings.  Because she is fun and cool and has virtually no time to shop or read up on the latest trends.

For the second, I imagined all sass and sparkle – a feisty departure with sequins and high strappy sandals.  Because she has so much sass that I think stays hidden too much of the time!

You can purchase every one of the items featured below on-line at Nordstrom’s.  I’ve mentioned it before but no one holds a candle to Nordstrom when it comes to dress shopping and they let you filter by every conceivable category  – from color to style of dress.

Modern Sensibilities:

Fun patterned shifts that fall away from the bottom help disguise a little extra middle and still feel bright and young for spring.  Accessories with cool heels, consider gladiators, and interesting earrings:

Sass and Sparkle:

This is way outside her comfort zone.  She doesn’t like to show a lot of leg.  And the last picture is too much leg but it wouldn’t likely fall that high on her as she’s shorter than the model.  But all this fun sparkle is actually pretty versatile for going to a cocktail event  or a nice dinner out.  Add a metallic shoe and a chandelier earring:

What look would you love to try on for size?  If you could do something completely different, what style would you try?

Every coastal area around the world is slowly becoming the hotspots for tourist destinations,
not only for the scenic beauty but also they offer varied range of water adventures.
PADI IDC is a course that requires sincerity, perseverance, and commitment, most especially if you’re really serious about becoming a successful diver or a
scuba diving instructor. Bright metals for murky waters
will let fish attack without hesitation.

Welcome

Come on in. I have a reservation just for you. I know life is busy. I would love for us to step out for a relaxing lunch but schedules don't always allow. So let's pop open that salad or sandwich sitting in front of our computers, and we'll have lunch right here. A few minutes is all we need to connect to community.
