Ah, fall is in the air this Fashion Friday. Well, fall is in the air in Minnesota where my friend Kristen says it’s in the 50s. Fall is in the air in Houston because it dropped into the 60s overnight last week and I had a pumpkin scone (which was delicious by the way).
There’s some bad trends out there, we all know.
But there’s some fun quirky ones too this season which you can add to your wardrobe for a song.
Foxes! Y’all, foxes in prints are turning up everywhere. I love them. I sitting here wearing my fox blouse and have an adorable fox print scarf for our Pumpkin Patch pictures this weekend. And if the actual fox print is too much for you, I think it’s super fall-ish, then channel those cream and orange hues in a print that is reminiscent of a fox.
Richly colored midi skirts. I know these can be tricky to style and you have to work to make them look fresh and edgy instead of matronly, but I love it for the fall. A wonderful transition piece done perfectly here at Paris Fashion Week. Think HIGH heels and fitted tucked blouse to make the midi work – but aren’t you nuts about this color?
The easiest and cheapest way to amp up your fall fashion style is with a new nail color. Everywhere you’re seeing grays and eggplants and lilacs. Play with what works best with your skin tone but these are some of my favorites this season:
And then of course it is time to DUST OFF THOSE BOOTS! I love boots. There’s a boot for every woman out there. Try pairing them with a cool skirt. A bootie with a pencil skirt or fitted knee high boots with an A-line skirt. This awesome plaid pencil is only $44:
What say you? What is the fall fashion item popping up in store windows or in your news feed that you’re dying to try?
