Well, it’s Valentine’s Day weekend, so what better time to talk about one of my favorite trends? Red Bottoms.
What a great way to inject a little festive spirit into your weekend than with a skinny red pant or fun red skirt. Two women from a state board inspired me last month with their adorable red bottoms but I wasn’t fast enough to snap a picture.
There’s lots of ways to do it, but I prefer deep cherry red. (My girlfriend believes that Talbot’s somehow gets red just right. Red can quickly go awry but if you find the right rich shade of red it’s absolutely divine!)
The key is to realize what a statement piece red pants or a red skirt is and then go subtle and neutral on top. My friends sporting it to a board meeting did exactly that – a black polka dot shirt and black blazer with red pencil skirt and a crisp white button down with red skinny pant and neutral pumps. Perfection!
Since I didn’t capture my friends outfits, here’s a few ways I’ve seen it done well, and many would work in an office environment:

What about you? Do you dare do red on bottom? Give it a try this Valentine’s weekend!

This is so inspiring! I love red. 😀 My favorite pic is the first one with the oatmeal top, denim shirt, and dark navy jacket.
So glad! I think red is fun all year round.
