The sun is rising over these distant puffy clouds and the nearest sky runs from peach to pink to blue. My mind is spinning. So many thoughts, not enough blog paper!
I’m going to pelt you with streams of consciousness for a few days. Then I have got to work on my mom stories for a book I’m trying to pull together so steel yourself for those next week!
Today, a little wrap up of what I’m up to. I’ve started my new job and love it. I’m dealing with the most eclectic bunch of issues and it’s really jolted me back into learning (I always adored school and I feel like I’ve gone back!).
My little bit had her SIXTH case of step in less than 12 months. So after two ENT consults, everyone agreed that her tonsils must come out! And… they really should come out before school so she can heal. So we’re gearing up for a T&A (adenoids) removal on August 10th. She’s a little nervous, but the surgeon has explained it all to her. She’ll be going where I went to have my gallbladder removed. Plus we’re going to the store the week before for her to pick out all the popsicles, ice cream, and pudding she wants (ahh, to have a 7 year old metabolism). She can’t leave town for two weeks which is fine because it will get us back on a school schedule.
Tips from you mommas who have been through this?
This weekend was perfect. We spent Saturday evening and Sunday morning with Bray’s entire family. We celebrated his mom’s birthday with all 21 one of us at a lovely small town bar/restaurant. The kids had races on the town square sidewalk and the grown ups danced. We virtually had the place to ourselves. We’ve decided we should do it every year!

YES… #3 was there, but off watching tv.
When we returned, we attended a pool party for dear friends of ours who are moving to California. We saw all the kids old friends from their kindergarten school and talked about a way to find our way out to California in the not-to-distant future.
I booked our fall trips. Bray is taking the boys to Oxford in October. My brother in law is a huge Ole Miss alum and he’s got a place for the family to stay. My football obsessed boy will show up in head-to-toe purple and gold for the LSU game against Ole Miss and my brother in law will question why he invited them (hahahaha). Little bit and I will celebrate my brother’s BIG birthday the same weekend in Oklahoma.
Then it’s time for another mommy and me trip. This time, the baby and I head to San Diego to take on LEGOLAND. He’s my Lego fan and we’ve never been. Plus my college roomie lives there and I always love to plan trips when I can also see friends.
Tomorrow, you guys are going to have to crowd source my big bathroom remodel plan. Get your typing fingers stretched out today.
Can you believe summer is winding down (at least for us)? One more month until school starts? What the heck? I’ll admit though, I’ll be so grateful to have my schedule back!
