Fashion Friday: Christmas Wish List

December 1, 2017 by Gindi 1 Comment

I want to write Fashion Friday every week!

I have a topic every week!

Then life happens.  And because Fashion Fridays take forever to write, I can’t get to them in time to get published on Friday.  I have the best of intentions friends 🙂

So for a QUICK Fashion Friday, I’ll share a few of the things I wish were under the tree.  All my great substantive Fashion Fridays are coming, eventually.  Sigh.  More time.  It’s what we all need.

First up on my Christmas Wish List, I am on the quest for something pretty in red.  It always looks so festive at the holidays and I just don’t have anything right now that does the trick.  There is basically NO red out there.  Everything is green or blue for the season (or cranberry/maroon-ish).  A couple pieces I’ve found are this simple cable knit sweater from Loft and if you can’t find a red top then opt for festive red bottoms like this simple pencil skirt:

Then, I would love a feminine Christmas-y cocktail dress and can’t imagine one more perfect than this one, in emerald OR ruby, at Nordstrom’s (I loved so much of Dress the Population’s stuff at Nordstrom’s):

Another long sheath.  My long black sheath has become my go to power work outfit.  Pair it with a blazer and heels and I’m all set.  There’s something that makes it more sophisticated because it hits below the knee (better for tall girls).  And this F&C number at Nordstrom’s clocks in at under $100 (and in red)!!!

I love long open sweaters.  I especially love them in cool patterns and textures but I was hard pressed to find one like that.  Striped ones however are everywhere.  And would be a fun addition to my two long Southwestern looking sweaters:

From Old Navy –

From Nordstrom Rack with a hoodie which makes me love it more –

And finally, the perfect pair of replacement leopard print ballet flats.  They basically don’t exist.  The closest I could find was these Sam Edelman pair which are outside my budget but Sam sure does know his way around an animal print (his leopard print pumps still rank among my favorite shoes):

What’s on your Christmas list?  What Fashion Friday conundrum should I be writing about in January?  I’ve missed you girls!

I want cute flats for work! I use a stand up desk, and walk around downtown a lot so I need flats almost every day.

Here’s an idea for next year posts- colors and prints at work. How much is ok? Things to avoid?

Welcome

Come on in. I have a reservation just for you. I know life is busy. I would love for us to step out for a relaxing lunch but schedules don't always allow. So let's pop open that salad or sandwich sitting in front of our computers, and we'll have lunch right here. A few minutes is all we need to connect to community.
