I am away.
Grateful for the away-ness.
Today, we had competing basketball games. Two hard losses. The boys lost their last regular season game that determined whether they went to the gold or silver playoff bracket.
They played hard this season on a brand new team with no one they knew. The baby won the sportsmanship award today for his hard work and can do spirit. Bray videoed the award since I was at little bit’s game.

She lost her game by two points, their first loss of the season, and several limped off the court with injuries.
After a quick pit stop at the boot store (since I cannot keep these children in shoes), we escaped town thanks to the long President’s Day weekend.
Away.
To a place without schedules or demands. Where the kids head out to do their own thing. They mucked horse stalls, of their own doing, while we built a fire and had a drink after dusk.

This is what I needed on a Day 15. What we all needed after long hard days of work and focus and schedules and busy.
I do not know what we will do tomorrow. The kids want to paint a fence. I will run into town to buy the required supplies for s’mores around tomorrow night’s fire. Bray says he’ll fry oysters.
It’s 9 pm and the kids are laughing in the other room and I am getting ready for bed.
Thankful to have a couple of days away.
