I’ll admit it. I’m not much of a Black Friday shopper. Certainly not “in store.” And definitely not now that corporate America is gobbling up our actual Thanksgiving Day. One of the few holidays left not completely overrun by commercial greed.
Ugh. I’ll save the rant.
But today I get to introduce you to some Black Friday deals you won’t want to miss. Because these lovely ladies are using part of the proceeds to give back to something good. To make a difference in the WORLD! To help orphans. Third world poverty. Community building. You get a lovely gift for someone in your life and you do something good with your money.
1. Delonna Gibbs– Clothed in Love – https://www.etsy.com/shop/ClothedInLove
Clothed in Love sells handmade jewelry to raise funds for orphans and abandoned children. 50% of all proceeds go toward monthly sponsorship for children in Africa, Central or South America. Delonna’s mission is to support and invest in the lives of 40 orphans and abandoned children. She LOVES BIG and build relationships with orphans. Her Black Friday special features free shipping!! (And mercy y’all, Delonna also rocks as a human being. She will make you laugh so hard you will pee in your pants. I know. I’ve experienced it.)
2. Elizabeth Anne May – Seasons with Soul – https://www.etsy.com/shop/SeasonswithSoul
My friend Elizabeth is a talented writer, photographer, and nature lover. At Seasons with Soul, her shop features original photography, paired with typography and inspirational scriptures for a one-of-a-kind piece of art, suitable for framing. Her Black Friday special will donate 30 percent of all proceeds to Compassion International – a global organization helping children, one at a time, out of poverty. (Elizabeth is also CRAZY creative and a total real food woman who has been teaching me one sprouted grain at a time!)
3. Melissa Aldrich – Quiet Graces – http://sweetsimpleblessings.wordpress.com/ and http://www.quietgraces.com/?p+4660
At Sweet Simple Blessings, Melissa has allowed God to take her love of sewing and crafting and turn it into a way to help make dresses for little girls all over the world. After overcoming her fears and doubts about starting her own business, she now has developed the connections to get her hand stitched dresses to girls in the Dominican Republic and Liberia. Then, over at Quiet Graces, $2 from every photo Christmas ornament purchased will benefit Compassion. (Melissa was the darling woman who took such fun God-sized dream pics of us at Allume and is a fellow multiples momma!)
4. Noonday Collection – http://www.noondaycollection.com/our-story-our-impact.html
Oh heavens. They have lovely accessories all done by artisans, over 1,000 of them, in third world countries. It’s providing a way for them to step out of poverty and keep their family together. (Totally don’t know this woman, friend of a friend, but I am a huge fan of what she’s doing!)
What is one of your favorite artists or websites that give back? Leave us the link in the comments so we can all be part of something good on this Black Friday.
Thanks so much for sharing my prints and cards, and for showcasing these wonderful women and products that give back 🙂
I love what you’re doing friend, honored to be a part!
